Smart Money, one of Nansen’s most popular dashboards, surfaces quick insights on Smart Money trades, trends and activity.
In the Overview tab of Smart Money dashboard in Nansen 2, we've introduced a new feature: Smart Money Performance chart. Additionally, we've released 2 new tabs: Balance and DEX Trades.
It’s currently available on Ethereum. And the dashboard is accessible for subscribers of Nansen Pioneer and Professional plans.
Why is this useful?
Overview tab
In addition to Smart Money Top Trades and Smart Money Trends such as Stablecoins Holding and Sector Flows, you can now gain insights into the performance of individual Smart Money addresses.
Smart Money Performance
In the Overview tab of Smart Money dashboard, the new Smart Money Performance chart highlights the top Smart Money DEX traders by PnL, in both USD and ROI (%) values.
The chart displays profitable traders over a 30-day period by default. You can also choose a different time frame, or include Smart Money traders of ETH and Stablecoins.
This is useful as you can discover new tokens that you might not have considered otherwise, or observe emerging trends of a certain token category.
It’s also valuable for identifying Smart Money traders you may want to analyze more closely or set up a Smart Alert for their trades if you hold the same token. Just click on a trader's address bubble in the chart to access their Wallet Profiler.
For instance, this 180D Smart DEX Trader’s top traded token is RVST, in the Wallet Profiler for Token page, we find that their cost basis is $0.06. With the current price at $0.32, they've achieved an average return of 417%. They still hold 175,490 RVST, valued at approximately $58k.
Balance
The new Balance tab has 2 features: Smart Money Token Holdings and Smart Money Leaderboard.
Smart Money Token Holdings
The Smart Money Token Holdings table tracks how Smart Money balances are shifting over time, indicating buying or selling trends.
You can also toggle the display of their holdings to show either the percentage change or the USD value change. Additionally, use filters to narrow down the data. For example, filter by your token of interest, or set a filter for tokens held by at least 10 Smart Money holders and then sort the table to see the most recent changes in their balances over the past hour or 24H to discover some of their degen bets. 😄
Smart Money Leaderboard
Similar to Nansen 1, this leaderboard shows the list of Smart Money address ranked by their total balance. The updated version also allows you to view latest token outflows with the accessibility to click into each token, as well as exchange deposit volumes over the last 30 days. You can easily switch the table to display only fund-related information.
Additionally, you can also check out any Smart Money address to view their Wallet Profiler, which provides details of their holdings, counterparties and transaction history.
DEX Trades
Lots of valuable insights to explore in the new DEX Trades tab!
🤓 Smart Money Buy/Sell
This table provides an overview of Smart Money's recent buying and selling activity for various tokens, including transaction values, and the number of buyers or sellers.
In the last column, the number of 🤓 New Joiners or Leavers is very useful to understand how many new Smart Money addresses are buying a token or completely exited.
You can also select to display only new tokens to spot their degen plays.
Tokens Traded
This is a new treemap token chart ranked by Smart Money DEX trading volumes.
Filter chart by New Tokens (less than 30-day), Mircro Caps, or Low Caps to discover their degen bets 😄 For instance, we can see that as of Jan 8, the 24H most traded new token is AI (and its 7D price is up 47%), followed by PEAS (up 126%), and OMNI (up 38%).
However, keep in mind that new or smaller-cap tokens come with higher risks, so it’s important to further analyze the tokens and their holders’ trading activities.
Lastly, the live DEX Trades table shows Smart Money token buys and sells in real-time, along with the value of each transaction.
Additionally, you can refine the table using filters for Smart Money labels, or apply your Custom Labels or Smart Segments to focus on specific traders of interest.
