Smart Alerts is a very useful tool for identifying new real-time opportunities and safeguarding your portfolio against potential risks. It's also a favorite feature among our users.
Today we are excited to share 5 new Smart Alert types that are live on Nansen 2, and you can also create alerts in just a few clicks while navigating through Nansen.
We've also introduced Slack notifications through webhooks, simplifying the process for crypto teams who track onchain transactions at work.
What sets Nansen alerts apart is the ability to aggregate information. This allows you to receive alerts not only on single wallets or tokens but also on multiple addresses that share a common label or as a particular entity. Additionally, you can set up alerts for specific events, such as new popular contracts with significant capital inflows.
5 new Smart Alert types
We’ve released 5 new Smart Alert types in Nansen 2:
- SM Token Flows: Smart Money token in/outflow above a predefined threshold
- Exchange Flows: ETH and token in/outflow from centralized exchanges
- Hot Contracts: Popular new contracts with significant capital flows
- Token Signals: Token alerts on unusual onchain activities
- NFT Signals: NFT alerts on unusual onchain activities
Currently, Smart Alerts in Nansen 2 are available on Ethereum. Stay tuned for a multichain Smart Alert experience, which we plan to roll out in the coming months.
Smart Money Token Flows
This alert is ideal for identifying new tokens purchased or received by Smart Money, or getting notified when the Smart Money sell or transfer a token.
By setting a "Max Token Age," you can spot newly launched tokens, and by entering a low minimum inflow per hour, day or week, and a smaller market cap, you can uncover the degen plays they are making.
Keep in mind, these risky trades usually happen quickly, often in just a few hours or days. And it doesn't mean that Smart Money, such as Smart DEX Traders, think these new tokens will do well in the long run. To understand what's going on, you should also take a closer look at the token in Token God Mode, pay attention to things like its Balances and large transactions.
To receive alerts when Smart Money transfers or sells specific tokens, choose the "Outflow" option. Then specify a minimum outflow over an hour, day, or week. You can also set up one alert for multiple tokens at the same time, simply search for the token name or enter a specific token address.

Exchange Flows
Create your own “Whale Alerts.”
At Nansen, we’ve curated and labeled the wallet addresses of more than 220 active centralized exchanges, covering over $192B assets on chains that we’ve integrated.
For example, you can set an alert to track big stablecoins' movements per hour or day, or monitor ETH or any other token’s inflow and outflows from exchanges.
Using the "Max Token Age" filter with a minimum inflow amount can be a useful test to see if an exchange might list a new token. But it's not guaranteed because exchanges frequently use fresh addresses for new token listings.
Hot Contracts
Hot Contract alerts keep you informed about new contracts that have received a minimum amount of inflow or deposits in a given timeframe, allowing you to easily spot fresh opportunities like token sales, staking or liquidity pools, and new NFTs.
This is an excellent update especially for Pioneer plan subscribers, because it gives you partial access to data from the Hot Contracts dashboard (screenshot below), which is exclusive to Professional subscribers 👀
By entering a max contract age it helps surface new contracts created within a certain timeframe, and the min USD inflow and minimum number of depositors signal the popularity of the new contract.
For instance, this alert on Feb 2 shows a contract address #0x4aa7 received over $127M in deposits within a day, and by looking into the address, we know that it’s attributed to Puffer Finance rewarding stETH and wstETH depositors with Puffer and EigenLayer points.
Token Signals
Signals is a highly favored feature at Nansen, and we've received requests for the ability to set alerts when Signals are triggered.
You asked, we delivered - we're excited to share that yes now you can!
Choose the Signal Type you're interested in, or select “All Signal Types” to try it out and ensure you don't miss anything. Remember, you can always adjust the settings later if you find you're receiving too many alerts.
Enter the tokens you're interested in into the Tokens field, or select "My Watchlist Tokens" to have the tokens automatically added for you.
For example, we received an alert of “Smart Money acquired $770,141.33 of STG in the last 24h (192.58x the recent average)”
After checking the Smart Money tab on STG, we found out the increase is due to the STG Team and Investors' token vesting. If you hold STG, it's a good idea to keep an eye on their transactions.
NFT Signals
Just like with token Signals, you can choose certain NFT Signal types, input the NFT projects you're following, and receive alerts when these Signals go off.
We noticed a few “old” NFT projects are seeing huge spikes in daily trading volume recently, is this a sign that NFT summer 2.0 is here?
Simplified workflow
Now you can set up Smart Alerts in just a few clicks while navigating through Nansen.
We've simplified the entire Smart Alert workflow, focused on the key information and reduced the steps. And if you get too many alerts or want to modify what you're alerted for, you can tweak the settings in the Smart Alerts page.
Signals
On Signals Feed, click the 🔔 Set Alert button located in the top right corner to select Signal types that you’d like to receive alerts from.
Token God Mode
On the Balances table, click the 🔔 Set Alert button located in the top right corner to create alerts on balance changes from the token holders.
Wallet Profiler
